Adding onto your exploration of meditation styles and techniques, today you will be practicing an emptiness meditation. The aim of an emptiness meditation is to empty the mind, coming to a place of deep stillness and relaxation, within body and mind.
Start in a seated or lying down position, the option is up to you. Feel free to use any blocks, pillows, or blankets within your seated position.
After five days of meditation and mindfulness practice, I’m interested to know if you’ve experienced any sort of changes in your self. Do you feel any different, any more aware of yourself? Do not be discouraged if you don’t feel as though much progress has been made; we still have 25 more days to cover!
The meditations will eventually get longer and, by the end, I trust that you will be able to sit comfortably and guide yourself through your own meditative practice.
However, it’s going to take discipline, patience, and acceptance. Not every day is going to come easy; every practice will require something else from you. But you will begin to better understand yourself every time you practice mindfulness and meditation.
Thanks for participating in the Month of Mindfulness!
