Today’s meditation style is a guided, Zazen meditation. The exercise is about 12 minutes long.
Zazen is the primary meditation training of Zen (along with walking meditation). This exercise will help you cultivate awareness of the breath, body, and mind. You may notice that the Zazen technique is somewhat similar to the mindfulness meditations you explored earlier in the challenge. There is a lot of detail and helpful information in this video that will differentiate the two styles; the guide really stresses the importance of foundation when practicing Zazen, among other things. He has really useful tips and helpful cues for settling into your practice.
