Day 29 of the challenge offers you a 30-minute body scan meditation for healing and relaxation. Personally, I love body scan meditations. I find them to be very soothing and helpful in expanding my body awareness. They are my favourite to teach in yoga classes, as I find they are the easiest way to bring people into full-body stillness and relaxation mode. This style maintains the focus of the mind while also engaging the imagination, not to mention boosts awareness of the body and breath. Bringing the body to a place of peace and calm brings ease to the mind by default.
If you have any sort of chronic pain, you may find this style of training to be a complementary to any treatment you’re receiving. Tap into your mind. Train your mind to assist in your treatment and healing. Perform this style of body scan regularly for best results, anywhere from 3-5 times a week.
